Habitat Preservation

“We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us.  When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.”  ~Aldo Leopold, A Sand County Almanac

As human populations grow, there is increasing need for development.  When we alter natural landscapes, there is always an effect on the surrounding natural environment as well as on our fellow citizens who live downstream.  Negative affects on ecology includes habitat loss and fragmentation and water quality impairment.  ACF coordinates several projects that restore natural areas to increase habitat connectivity and protect water quality while providing opportunities for volunteers to connect with their environment and others in their community.
