Coastal Alabama Onsite Sewage and Disposal System Workshops

"Oh my gosh was this information super helpful. I learned so much – and I am up on things...I plan on picking your brains to see how I can get programs started in my area...

GREAT WORK, FABULOUS PROGRAM!"

-Workshop Attendee Review

Alabama Coastal Foundation partnered with the Alabama Nonpoint Pollution Control Program, Mobile and Baldwin County Health Departments, and the Alabama Onsite Water Board to host four workshops focused on Mobile and Baldwin county resedential septic tank maintenance and inspection education in May of 2020. If you have questions or would like to discuss this project further, please contact ACF Director Mark Berte at mberte@joinACF.org OR (251) 990-6002.

These free one-hour workshops educated the public about:

  • how to properly maintain your septic tanks;

  • about land use and non-point source pollutants; and,

  • upcoming projects, inspections, funding, and more!

We understand that not all of you could make the scheduled workshops, but we want to provide everyone a chance to learn about your septic tanks! ACF created videos of the workshops that you can watch whenever you have the time. They are about 50 minutes long and can be accessed by the clicking the following links:

After you watch a video, please fill out this short (less than 3 minutes) evaluation:

According to our post-workshop survey, so far:

100% of participants said they learned how to better care for their septic system.

75% gained more information about agency contacts they could use to help

them best maintain their system.

63% claimed they would participate in future septic tank pump-out programs.
