Why volunteer?

Volunteering helps not only wildlife but people as well. Many of our volunteers have said that even though they are picking up litter, they feel like they have contributed to conservation efforts. They can see the impact we make by the monthly post that are shared on our social media pages.

Who can volunteer?

Anyone can volunteer. We encourage everyone--no matter your age or if you are just visiting--to help.  Groups that are looking for a great bonding experience can join.

What do volunteers do?

Each volunteer will pick any area of the island they prefer to walk and pick up any litter in that area. Take a picture of what was collected. Then send in the names of all volunteers that helped along with their time and the location of the items where collected.

What do volunteer hours earn the team?

All volunteer hours that are accrued help us earn funds to buy supplies for sea turtle conservation and help educate people about the importance of keeping our local environment litter free.

Can I get service hours for myself or my child?

Yes, you can get a letter for community service hours for your school or organization.

Can I only volunteer for big events like beach cleanups?

Yes, you can choose to volunteer for events like beach cleanups. We have a few events a year that need volunteers to take shifts.
